YOUNG ADULT PROGRAM AT DANA FARBER

This program was put together by the efforts of the social workers and staff at Dana-Farber to explore resources and exchange information for young adults with cancer and their caretakers and family. When people arrived in the morning and were gathered around coffee and breakfast there was also an array of paper, cloth and markers to create a six word story about where you were in your journey with dealing with cancer. The six word story quilt was then sewn together and still hangs at Dana-Farber as a memento of a great day. Later in the day a presentation was given on mending as metaphor and then a workshop was held with sewing and mending explored as a coping tool and as a meditation.
